Privacy Policy

1. Who this is

This site is operated by ScienceBuilt Coaching LLC, an online fitness coaching business based in Minnesota, United States. Where this policy says "we" or "us", that is who it means.

2. What you give us on purpose

The fat-loss quiz and booking application

If you complete the application on the homepage, we receive the answers you selected and typed. Specifically: your main goal, how long you have been trying, what you believe is blocking you, how ready you are to start, and your Instagram handle. From those answers the form also records a short readiness label (for example, whether you said you are ready to start now) so we can prepare for the call.

That form does not ask for your name, your email address, or your phone number, and it does not collect them. Your Instagram handle is the only way it gives us to contact you, and it is optional. These submissions are received and stored through Netlify, the service that hosts this website.

Booking a call

Calls are scheduled through Calendly, which is embedded on the homepage and at the end of the fat-loss quiz. When you book, you provide your name, email address and chosen time to Calendly, and it passes them to us so the call can happen. Calendly handles that information under its own privacy policy, which you should read if you want the detail: calendly.com/privacy.

The free calculators

The TDEE, macro, protein, goal timeline and body fat calculators run entirely inside your browser. The numbers you enter are never transmitted to us, never stored on a server, and disappear when you close the tab. We do not know what you calculated, and we could not tell you if you asked.

The one thing that is recorded is the ordinary fact that someone visited the page, which is covered in the next section.

3. What is collected automatically, including the advertising tools

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

This site runs the Meta Pixel (dataset ID 783990950690319) together with Meta's Conversions API. They work as a pair: the pixel reports from your browser, and our server reports the same event a second time so the record is more complete. This is how we measure whether our Instagram and Facebook advertising is working, and it is what allows Meta to show our ads to people similar to our visitors.

Between them, the following is sent to Meta when you use this site:

• The pages you visit on this site and when you visited them
• Meta's own advertising cookies, _fbp and _fbc, which identify your browser
• A random identifier that we generate and keep in your browser's local storage (labeled sb_xid) so repeat visits can be recognized as the same browser. It holds no name, email or other personal detail. It is sent to Meta as an "external ID" alongside each event, and clearing your browser storage resets it.
• Your IP address and your browser's user agent string, sent from our server
• If you have provided contact details in a context connected to an event, those details are converted into an irreversible scrambled value (a SHA-256 hash) before they leave our server. Meta uses the scrambled value to check whether it already knows you. We do not send your email address or phone number to Meta in readable form.

Meta processes all of this under its own terms, not ours. Its policy is here: facebook.com/privacy/policy. To limit how your data is used for advertising, the controls live in your Facebook or Instagram account settings under Ad preferences, and they apply no matter which site collected the data.

Hosting records

Netlify hosts this website and keeps standard server records of requests, which include IP addresses. This is ordinary infrastructure logging, it happens for every website you visit anywhere, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. Netlify's policy: netlify.com/privacy.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The only cookies this site is responsible for are the Meta advertising cookies described above. We also keep the single sb_xid identifier in your browser's local storage, which is a different mechanism than a cookie but serves a similar purpose and is covered in section 3. We do not run analytics platforms, session recording, heat mapping, or advertising networks other than Meta.

You can block or delete cookies, and clear local storage, in your browser settings. Doing so will not break anything on this site. Every calculator, the quiz and the booking flow will all work normally.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
• We do not rent, trade or share your information with data brokers.
• We do not run an email list. The site collects no email addresses at all, and an earlier newsletter signup has been removed.
• We do not require an email address to use any of the free tools, and we do not intend to.
• We do not use your information to make automated decisions that affect you.

6. Who else sees your information

Only the companies that make this site function, and only for that purpose:

• Netlify, which hosts the site and receives form submissions
• Calendly, which schedules calls
• Meta Platforms, which receives the advertising measurement data described in section 3
• Google, which serves the typefaces the site displays. Loading a font lets Google see your IP address as part of the request. It sets no cookies here and receives nothing else about you.

We will also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it. If the business is ever sold or merged, your information could transfer as part of it, and we would say so here first.

7. How long we keep things

Application submissions are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period after, so we can pick a conversation back up. If you ask us to delete yours, we delete it. Hosting logs age out on Netlify's own schedule. Data that has already reached Meta is governed by Meta's retention, not ours, which is why the opt-out controls in your Meta account are the effective lever there.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for advertising. Email Sciencebuiltcoaching@gmail.com and we will handle it within 30 days.

Some states, including Minnesota, give residents these rights by law against businesses above a certain size. We are a small business and those thresholds do not apply to us. We honor the requests anyway, for everyone, wherever you live. It costs us nothing to do the right thing here.

9. Health information

Some of what you might tell us, in the quiz or in a call, relates to your body and your health. Please understand two things about that.

First, we are a coaching business, not a healthcare provider. We are not covered by HIPAA, and nothing on this site is medical advice or a substitute for talking to your doctor.

Second, we treat what you tell us as private regardless. We do not publish it, we do not share it with other clients, and the client photographs on this site are used with permission and with faces blurred.

10. Children

This site and this coaching service are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will remove it.

11. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. There is no version where we quietly start selling your data and update a line here.
